'And she stalks closer and closer to the little white rabbit, her paws barely making a sound as they touch the soft grasses of the sacred lands. Hunting here was dangerous, hunting here could be the end of her but she knew she had to do it. She wanted to survive, wanted to support her family. Such a young cat, with what could be a burden on her shoulders. And just as she finally sees the rabbit come to a pause, she lowers herself and-' Eagle pounced at the rabbit, claws extended as the monologue in her head started to came back around. Though as she was in the air, she could already tell that her intended kill was onto her. Just a twitch of it's ear catching the rather loud noises the young she-cat had made in it's attack and it ran off, leaving her to land hard on the ground where the rabbit had once been, skidding just a few inches over the grass.
"Aw man," she whined, laying with her face in the ground for a moment. The kitten had ran off from where her family had been resting tracking down that rabbit. For so many fox-lengths she had been following it, going incredibly slow and being as careful as possible so that she wouldn't fall. And look at her? Face in the grass, moon starting to ascend into the sky, and not a damned thing to show for it.
As she slowly got to her paws, she shook out her fur before hopping forward once. "Hop, hop, hop, like a little bunny," she purred with amusement. So what, it got away. Now she had an excuse to explore a whole new area all by herself! What more could she ask for? Eagle hopped forward again only to stumble and fall. Her purrs got louder as she got back up again and started moving forward. The light of the stars and the moon seemed to illuminate the field in a faint glow that seemed to excite the she-cat. She scented the air and gazed around in wonder. "This is gonna be great!" she exclaimed before running off, thankful that, for once, she wasn't tripping paws over tail everywhere.

The sleek brown tom blinked his eyes opened slowly. He must have dozed off.. Jax's whiskers twitched. It had been a while since he had taken a good nap. The only downfall was that he had woken as the moon was starting to rise. He wouldn't be able to get a good night's sleep, not after having slept through half the day.
Jax sat up slowly before giving a paw a lick to clean behind his ears. He was careful not to disturb Sparrow who was lying next to him. The smaller shapes of Hawk and Falcon were nearby, along with…. wait, where was Eagle? Jax's heart instantly accelerated. The litter kit might not have been his, but he had claimed her as his and would not desert her if something had happened. Jax looked around the area, walking almost a circle around their little 'camp' before catching her scent. He looked back at Sparrow, trying to decide if he should wake her. But then she would demand that she go to find her daughter, which would leave Hawk and Falcon alone. He would go alone.
Mind made up, Jax set out, padding lightly and moving slowly so he wouldn't lose the scent. Not long into his journey, Eagle's scent mixed with the scent of a rabbit. He couldn't help but let a deep breath escape. She was just out hunting. She was fine, right? Still, his pace quickened, eager to find his adoptive daughter.
The scent was slowly growing stronger, strong enough that he burst into a run and could still keep track of the scent. Eagle couldn't be too far from him now. The rabbit scent had veered away from Eagle's scent a while ago, so it was just Eagle he was following now. Finally he caught sight of the kit, running a short ways in front of him. Jax put forward a burst of speed, paws pounding against the ground. Inch by inch, he neared his daughter, soon appearing alongside her. "What are you doing, huh?" he called out.

Eagle's pawsteps weren't as careful and precise as she had wanted them too, her excitement slowly growing more and more inside herself, as if it needed to grow anymore. Soon she was quickening her pace, just a little, letting the scents from around her fill her. She probably should have woken up Falcon and Hawk before leaving to take them with her, make a full-blown adventure out of this. But something about doing this alone seemed to have its own appeal to it. As if there would be some sort of danger to it, not that she really needed any danger in her life. Oh how her parents would probably worry if they knew she was missing from 'camp'.
Almost giggling, the sound coming off as purrs, she pounced at a leaf, falling almost instantly at the failed 'attack'. The leaf had been blown away by the small burst of wind her falling form had caused. "Mouse-dung. I'll get'cha one of these days," she purred, watching the leaf settle back down before getting back properly onto her paws and walking off again.
The thoughts that she should head back to camp filled the back of her head, though she ignored them. No need to end the adventure too soon! It had just started and she wanted to get a feel for the area, maybe find a spot she could hide-out in when she wanted some peace and quiet! It seemed like the perfect plan. "Find a spot, head back to mom." she sang, repeating the small phrase over and over in her sing-song tone.
She barely noticed the scent of her 'father' on the wind, too overwhelmed with all that was new, nor did the sounds of his footsteps catch her ear. She was simply humming and trotting, her head bobbing slightly as she moved. She had only tripped up twice and she was feeling lucky, like she wasn't going to fall again. And she probably wouldn't, had Jax not seemed to appear out of nowhere beside her, startling the young she-cat.
Jumping nearly out of her pelt as he spoke, she tripped and fell right on her face, her tail raised high in alert. Eyes glancing towards her father, she felt herself relax, her fur a bristling slightly, though from the shock. "Who, me? I'm uh... hehe." She let herself stay lying there for a moment, her tail falling to the ground and twitching at the tip just slightly. She was trying to think of a way to say what she was doing that wouldn't get her into too much trouble. Sadly, she couldn't really think of much a way. Well, there went her hopes of exploration without getting caught. Oh well, there would always be next time.
As she got to her feet, she shook her fur out and turned to look at Jax. "I was hunting!" she chirped. "Until the rabbit got away. And then I was going to head home, honest, but I wanted to look around a little first." Eyes wide with excitement, she was practically jumping up and down at every word, needing to move in someway. After a second, almost literally at that, she turned and started bouncing off again. "How come we never come here, dad? This place is amazing! So open and grassy and I bet there are tons of mysteries around here!" She was just sort of hoping to distract him so that he wouldn't force her to head home.
