[SPUNKY] ● [INDEPENDENT] ● [TOMBOY]
General Knowledge
AGE: 37 moons
GENDER: Female
BREED: Oriental Mix
SEXUALITY: Heterosexual
REASON FOR NAME:SPARROW;; she's small and has the coloring of a sparrow.PETAL;; She's delicate, like a petal of a flower.this was dropped once she left PineClan.
Appearance
Sparrow is a cat with long limbs but still tends to be dwarfed by most anyone. Her stick thin runner's build and long tail, the she-cat is definitely more made for speed rather than bulk. When it comes to fights, Sparrow mostly relies on being agile and confusing her opponent before striking to give her more of a chance at winning since she's not very strong. With her great stamina though, her tiring the other party is usually what gets the best results. Luckily, this doesn't happen often since there aren't many non-Clan cats around here.
The reason she was named Sparrow is obviously because of her fur. A variety of several sandy browns and tans cover her body. The lightest tan is mostly dusted on her belly, chest, and face. It then mixes with a darker rich red-brown that's later dulled by a very dark black-brown that is actually faded tabby markings. Sparrow's eyes are a leaf-in-spring green with darker, murkier green rimming it.
Personality
Sparrow doesn't like to be pampered. She knows her build is thin and looks delicate, but she has tested her limits well enough to know what they are. If others try to coddle her because of her looks, she simply reminds them that she went through labor and is raising her kittens just fine by herself so she can most definitely take care of her own body. This is something her and her bestfriend Jax often argue over. He's the type to want to do everything for her while Sparrow wants to do everything herself. This stubborn cat finds pleasure in a job well done and finished solo. If any try to interfere with that, they'll face her wrath.
Although Sparrow looks lady-like, she is the completely opposite. She likes to get down and dirty, tussling with the guys and working to get dinner for the kits. Adventures, swims in creaks, and splashing in the mud are some of her favorite activities. Why waste the gift of short fur by never getting it messy just for it to wash right off into the water? Also, getting hurt is nothing new in the life of a rogue. Although she doesn't like getting wounded, she won't make a big deal of it, even if it's pretty bad. Blood is something she has long since gotten used to seeing from both the medicine cat den and battle.
Sparrow is a bit fiesty, but she also likes to use her skills to their advantage, even to help people. With her decent knowledge of herbs and grace in battle, this she-cat is always helping someone with either field. Whether it be patching them up or defending them from some stronger opponent, she is often found doing it. This mostly stems from her old yearning to be a medicine cat, whose job it is to help others in need. Beinga cat with strong motherly instincts, she mostly does this figuring the cat she's helping is someone's child and she would do the same for her babies. If Hawk, Falcon and Eagle are her world, that must be true for every mother and who is she to let some other cat's world crumble to tiny bits? The same goes for the cats she fights though. It's very rare Sparrow takes a life. She lets them live unless it's absolutely necessary in order to save either her or another.
Discrimination is something that disgusts Sparrow. Just because someone is different doesn't mean they need to be singled out from the rest like they have some contageous disease! If you love someone from a different group, so be it! You can't help how your heart feels. Making yourself happy and complete should be the most important thing in this she-cat's mind. Living a life just to please others and be miserable is a waste. Following your heart is the only way to have a fulfilling, satisfying life. Picking on others for being a little slower or not looking as pretty as the rest is just sick. As she always says: "You have to look at yourself and judge what's there before you go around judging everyone else for their imperfections. If you truly do look well enough, you'll find that your bad and good qualities are exactly the same."
Even while a good judge of character and seemingly pretty close to perfect, Sparrow does have some bad qualities. Aside from being stubborn, this little package of dynamite has a hot head. Little things can set her off and she won't calm down until she's finished. The things that trigger it aren't random though, she has several per peeves that start these bursts of fury. A few examples of these include treating her like a helpless flower, chattering her ear off, playing the victim when you're just as guilty as the other party, blatant lies, calling someone stupid or evil, and a lot more. Some get more of a reaction than others. Most result in yelling at the very least. Sparrow just has a hard time controlling herself when something annoys her because she is a naturally out-spoken cat. She tries to hold her tongue, but it just makes things worse.
In her more common adventurous side, Sparrow is fun and full of energy. She seems to have her head in the clouds without a care in the world. In reality though, this is the time when she absorbs her surroundings the most. Sparrow has always been a rather observant cat and picks up on things a lot of others overlook. It's easy for her to pick out lies, especially from those she knows well and she sometimes get to where she can make you squirm in your fur just from a look. If you ask Jax or even her family, Sparrow has always had this knowing look when she's trying to figure something out that seems to draw the truth from your lips before you can think to stop them. Her kits would also be a good source since they get this look most because they are always getting in trouble for doing something dangerous or bad.
Once you really know Sparrow well, you'll find that she's not quite as bubbly nor scary as she seems. Her heart is in the right place and she just wants life to be peaceful for everyone. Her life has been full of drama and the like and she doesn't want that for anyone. Having so much insecurity and even hatred at one point not only inside you, but toward you would take a toll on anybody. All her experience just makes her all that more humble and willing to help those in need though. It's also helped her appreciate life.
History
FAMILY:
mother: Lilacthorn~ A headstrong, dusty pale golden tabby she-cat with murky green eyes.
father: Cedarstem~ A sunny, bubbly red-brown tom with yellow-green eyes and long legs.
brother: Kiteslash~ Sandy brown tom with murky yellow-green eyes and a hate for his sister for leaving PineClan with Jax.
distant cousin: Jax~ dark brown tom with bright green eyes and a close relationship with Sparrow.
children: Hawk~ A skinny dusty brown tabby tom with green eyes and dark tabby markings. (Has his mother's blunt way of speaking and usually the headstrong leader of the litter.)
Falcon~ A lean red-brown faded tabby tom with yellow eyes. (Gained more of the care-taker part of Sparrow's personality. He is the motherhen of the group and is often found scolding his siblngs.)
Eagle~ A tiny brown tabby she-cat with yellow-green eyes, green flecks most prominent. (Bubbly and wild as well as clumsy, Eagle is just a happy-go-lucky ball of energy that usually pulls her brothers unwillingly into trouble-filled adventures)
Lilacthorn and Cedarstem were an odd couple to say the least. The two had grown up together and were oddly close despite their wide differences in personality. Cedarkit was often picked on for being sort of dumb and way too optomisitc. It didn't really bother the dream-hazed kit much, but Lilackit didn't like it. She thought it was a little annoying how bubbly Ceaderkit was; however, that didn't mean she wanted him bullied. This lead to her sticking up for him a lot as well as getting in trouble for it. In the end, the sunny red-brown tom-kit would always giggle and thank Lilackit who would suddenly get the urge to knock him over and storm away...which she did. Later, she'd find this was out of a thing called embarrassment.
As time went on and the duo became apprentices, Cedarpaw became really popular with male and female apprentices alike. The young cat had grown into his bat-ears and extremely long limbs, becoming very attractive. Lilacpaw had expected him to just forget her and let the attention get to his head, but he didn't. The spotlight was nice, but none of the cats that fawned over him had been nice when he'd been an awkward, tumbling ball of fluff. All of those moons of being protected by Lilacpaw had caught his attention and Cedarpaw found himself following her like a puppy. Still unable to control her embarrassment at the fact that Cedarpaw openly adored her, the she-cat still got rough when he said sweet things and often got flustered with him, especially when he complimented her. Later in their apprentice moons, Lilacpaw finally got tired of not knowing if he was serious or just grateful. So, she finally exploded, demanding that he tell her clearly what she was to him. The headstrong apprentice had gone through enough confision in her heart and she wanted to know whether she should bury her feelings for Cedarpaw or act on them. Of course Cedarpaw just grinned that same idiotic grin as usual and told her he loved her.
After the confession, Cedarpaw attempted to be all lovey-dovey, but Lilacpaw would have none of that. It was extremely annoying to have others stare and it just wasn't her thing to show affection in public. The deal was that the mateship was a secret until they had kits or someone found out so that no attention would be brought toward them. This is when they began going off late at night or early in the mornings to spend alone time together.
Not long after being named Lilacthorn and Cedarpaw becoming Cedarstem, Lilacthorn mysteriously began getting sick. A worried Cedarstem took his mate to the medicine den only to discover that she was pregnant! Crying for joy, it was that moment that Cedarstem raced through camp announcing that "the ever gorgeous Lilacthorn is having my kits! She's pregnant! I'll be a daddy!". This came as a surprise to PineClan seeing as the duo had always been seen as unwilling friends on Lilacthorn's part. Nonetheless, they accepted it and had to calm Cedarstem down enought to help prepare to move Lilacthorn to the Nursery. Cedarstem was surprisingly stern about his mate going to the Nursery as soon as possible. He wanted their babies to be perfect and all of them safe, especially Lilacthorn.
All through the pregnancy, Cedarstem often had to be chased out of the Nursery since he spent most of his time doting on his mate while he should have been out on patrol. Several times, Lilacthorn woke up to find him curled sround her and purring loudly in his sleep. As soon as the kits came, Cedarstem was there to do anything needed and helped do anything he could to make the birth go smoothly.
No complications were made during the process and the new parents were just stuck in awe at how perfect their kits were. It was one tom and one she-cat, both a perfect balence of their parents. The tom was named Kitekit for his sandy pelt of mixed browns, much like the bird and Sparrowkit not only for her small size but her similar coloring as well. Both proved to have strong personalities like their mother, Kitekit more strongly than his sister. Sparrowkit seemed to have favored her father in personality just a much as her mother. The little she-kit had a strong sense of justice, sharp tongue, and boundless energy while her brother was calmer, distant, and quite a bit more biting with his words. Despite this, they both grew clse, the family becoming extremely tight-knit.
There was a kit three moons older named Brownkit. His parents, Barktooth and Voleflower were close friends to Sparrowkit and Kitekit's parents. They were often pushed to play with Brownkit, not that Sparrowkit minded. Kitekit on the other hand didn't like anyone much other than family. He mostly glared at Brownit as he warily watched the older tom play with his sister. Kitekit tried to get his sister to leave him alone, but Sparrowkit refused saying there was no reason to just suddenly ignore him. Kitekit merely growled and told his sister she'd regret not leaving Brownkit to play by himself. Little did Sparrowkit know that Kitekit was having visions of her future with Brownkit and knew already something bad was going to occur.
When Brownkit became Brownpaw, his parents left for RoseClan, tired of the strict rules of PineClan and wanting to live an easier life without having to leave the convenience of the Clan. They left their kit to Cedarstem and Lilacthorn, saying he was in better hands with them rather than in RoseClan. This seemed to break something in Brownpaw. He retreated into himself and didn't trust anyone, not even Sparrowkit for a while. It took until Sparrowkit became a paw three moons later for her to fully break his barrier enough to get him to even talk to her like old times.
It was also around that time that Sparrowpaw became interested in herbs. She saw Redleaf patching up her brother after a training session where he stepped on a thorn and Sparrowpaw was fascinated at how calmly and easily the medicine cat had executed the treatment. From then on, that was all Sparrowpaw talked about. "Did you see Redleaf sorting herbs yesterday? He knew exactly where they went and was even listing their names and uses off for his apprentices!" The fact that here were already two medicine cat apprentices disheartened the young apprentice. This didn't stop her from learning about medicine though. She became quick friends with Emberpaw, sticking up for her when others were cruel for her half-Clan heritage. Sparrowpaw often helped the other she-cat study the herbs not only to learn them herself, but to also spend more time with her friend. Emberpaw interested her and reminded Sparrowpaw of Brownpaw so she kept close to her medicine cat apprentice friend, nudging Brownpaw into befriending her as well. The large tom was much more interested in proving he was a good warrior though instead of studying leaves and berries so he never really participated in medicine stuff.
Over time, Sparrowpaw realized she was jealous of Emberpaw for getting to do what she loved. Rather than fighting and hurting, Sparrowpaw wanted to create peace and heal. Her mentor, Lynxfang told her to forget her phase and learn to fight for her Clan like she was meant to. Sparrowpaw obeyed, working on her fighting skills tirelessly so she could maybe learn to like it. When it didn't grow on her, the she-cat figured that meant she wasn't quite for Clan life. It was then that she began to begin thinking of leaving her Clan. The small she-cat honed her battle and medic skills in preparation to leave PineClan and told no body. Kitepaw had his suspicions and kept a close watch on her and Brownpaw who was newly named Brownpelt at the time. Kitepaw's visions were becoming more and more clear and he tried his best to steer his sister from the dark path ahead, but he utterly failed.
Sparrowpaw went on to be named Sparrowpetal and Kitepaw to be Kiteslash. At that time, Sparrowpetal decided to share her plan to leave PineClan with Brownpelt. The tom agreed to leave with his best friend, hating Clan life despite Lilacthorn and Cedarstem's attempts to keep the hatred toward his parents off him. Kiteslash caught them while they were creeping out to leave that same night and said he'd kill both of them if he ever saw them again if they chose to leave then. Sparrowpetal merely smiled sadly at her brother. "I'm sorry, Kiteslash. PineClan is not where my heart lies, I want to be free to do as my heart desires and not have to hate anyone I don't want to. I suppose this is farewell then. Even if you hate me, I'll always love you, brother." With that, the duo left, Sparrowpetal dropping her suffix to be Sparrow and Brownpelt renaming himself Jax from a few suggested names they'd heard from a kittypet that weren't even remotely Clanlike.
Not even a moon later, Sparrow was out hunting opposite to where Jax had wandered off into the city to find a place to sleep that night. There near the Inner City is where Sparrow met Bronzebreeze. He was a charming StoneClanner that enchanted her from the moment she scent him. No names were exchanged in the heat-filled moment and it ended almost dreamily as she left in order ot not worry Jax over her taking too long 'hunting'. Of course sparrow couldn't ever hide anyhitng from Jax. The tom found out right away what had happened, forcing her to spill it and was furious. Sparrow had to calm him so the tom wouldn't hunt down and kill Bronzebreeze, saying it was a mere shared thrill and that nothing would come of it. Boy was Sparrow wrong. Soon after that night, she found she was pregnant. It's been eight moons since she's had her precious kittens and her and Jax have become like mates, raising them together. Sparrow never forgot about Bronzebreeze though. While she knows she loves Jax, she also has feelings for the father of her babies. When she scented him again a moon ago, she has become determined to find and introduce herself properly to him and tell him of their kits. Sparrow wants to know what will happen and she is currently searching for him tirelessly while still trying to make sense of whom she loves more: Jax or this mysterious tom that sired her reasons for living.
