General Knowledge Age: 52 moons Breed: American short hair mix Reason for Name: prefix for the color of his fur suffix for his fierceness and love of battle Appearance Slatefang inhereited the best of both his parents. He has a muscular, broad frame balanced out with long limbs. It's a nice mix, allowing him to be on the faster side than shorter, sturdier built cat. He's not easy to miss seeing how he's one of the taller cats in the clan. His fur is short and has a glossy shine to it. It is a light, smoke-like gray color. It is entirely one solid color with not a trace of white. Like his sister, Slatefang has the same minty green eyes. His eyes are guarded, exhibiting little more than polite and simple emotions. Personality | Passionate | Slatefang puts all of himself into what he does. He want to make a difference and is willing to spend a lot of time and effort into a cause. It can be a simple task or an earth-shattering event, but he'll jump right into it if it follows his own goals. | Kind | Slatefang is a warm, good-natured tom. For a Pineclan cat, Slatefang is more open to outsiders than one would expect. He's not likely to break the warrior code for them, but if they are invited to join, he'll be among the first to welcome them with a friendly smile. He's always willing to help others, sharing his own advice or experience with friends, families, and sometimes even the occasional outsider. His kind and loyal nature makes him an excellent target for those who like to use people for their own gain. | Hard-working | He has trouble refusing requests for help. That being said, he as tendency to take on more than he can handle. In this he is a perfectionist, always wanting to make sure everything is completed perfectly. Slatefang tries hard to exceed others' expectations (especially when he isn't sure what those expectations might be). Not surprisingly, this can cause a lot of stress and anxiety for the tom, It gets especially worse if other people take advantage and abuse this. | Private | Outside of his family and even then, Slatefang tends to keep his feelings to himself. If it wasn't for his helpful self, he might be considered shy. He keeps his opinions to himself unless you ask him directly. | Family Oriented | Slatefang is a big old softie when it comes to his family. He loves them and cares for them more than anyone else. He puts them first, even before the clan. He pays a lot of attention to the needs and wants of his siblings, sometimes surprising them with gifts and offering emotional or practical support when he thinks they need it. Currently, he's playing matchmaker for his brothers, which is harder said than done. | Intelligent | Slatefang isn't brilliant, but he has an almost perfect memory. He remembers details like faces, names, strengths, or weaknesses and can pull them out when he needs them. For example, he can easily notice discrepancies in someone’s story when he hears it again after a long period of time. It's useful in day to day life as well as on the battle field. He can figure how to out maneuver an opponent quickly and efficiently. One of the negative parts of this is that with so much junk floating around in his head, it can take some time to find exactly what he needs. History Family: mother-- Mistflower father-- Sootstone younger brother-- Riversnarl, younger brother-- Graywhisker younger brother-- Stoneheart younger sister -- Jaydance His parents, Mistflower and Sootstone were raised together. Their mothers were close friends and so it only made sense that their children would be too. Time passed, and they became apprentices. Mistflower realized that she wanted more than just friendship with Sootstone. She loved all of him, the good and the bad. A moon before they became warriors, she finally confessed her feelings and they became mates. Early in their warrior years they had their first litter. Slatekit was the oldest followed by a slightly smaller tom they named Riverkit. Slatekit and his brother were large and healthy kits with a love for rough housing and finding trouble. Even though they were litter mates, Slatekit took on the role of the "big brother." He was protective of Riverkit and wouldn't let anyone else push him around. Six moons into his life, Slatekit became Slatepaw. Around this time, his parents annoucned that they were having another litter. Slatepaw found himself with two more brothers; Graykit and Stonekit. They were more laid back than the kits before them, more into the hunting games or mossball. He grew close to Greywind, abosorbing everything the older tom had to teach him. At twelve moons, Slatepaw took his final assessment, but failed the hunting portion of it while Riverpaw passed with ease. Greywind spent the next moon working with Slatepaw and at thirteen moons he finally became a warrior. About six or seven moons later, his brothers from the second litter earned their own names. It was around this time that his sister was born and that he recieved his first apprentice. Jaykit was calm and quiet little kit. Slatefang cared about all of his siblings, but loved Jaykit from the start. He and his brothers encouraged their sister to come out of her shell and it worked. He continued working at it and focused on Thornpaw. Slatefang liked mentoring the energetic tom and stood proudly when Thornclaw stood vigil after his ceremony. Four or five moons after Jaydance became a warrior, his mother passed. Sootstone held on for two moons before he too died. He lost the will to live without his mate around. Since then, Slatefang has taken on the role as "head of the family." When he isn't patrolling, hunting or training, he's busy playing matchmaker for his brothers or scaring toms away from his sister. They don't like, but that doesn't stop him from pushing she-cats at them or being protective.
