| [SILENT] ● [SMART] ● [CONFIDENT] | General Knowledge Age: 30 moons Breed: American shorthair mix. Reason for Name:prefix- her fur color reminded her mother of a gray Jaybird.
suffix- her graceful movements are like a complicated dance.
Appearance
Jaydance is a beautiful cat and not many can deny this. Her pelt is a pale gray like the sky early on before a storm. The stripes are hazey and blend with the lighter base colors of her pelt. Although her fur is short, it's dense and keeps her warm enough. To the touch, it's a velvety sensation, much like a jay's feather.
With eyes a pale minty green, Jay's stare can be quite stunning. Some seem to get lost in the pools of mystery that are so cool and give nothing but polite emotions. They're clear of an tell-tale signs of her thoughts most of the time. It's really hard to figure out her thoughts from her appearance because she hides them well.
Jay's walk is also something awed at. She makes it seem easy to glide through. With her shoulders relaxed, legs making long, measured strides, and her tail sweeping behind her, it's almost like an enchanting dance. She always tends to walk with a certain light-footedness that adds to her grace and also makes her a swift force to be reckoned with in the battlefield.
Personality
Jaydance is a quiet girl. This is by choice because silence is interesting to her. It gives her room to think and just brings Jay peace. Many of her great inventions were thought up in one of her many quiet retreats.
Learning is also something Jaydance loves dearly. She's always wanting to see what's around the next corner and how to deal with it. This makes her quite adventurous. Most of the time, she'll be found hunting and on patrols about instead of at camp. Although, she does enjoy the Camp as well, it's entertaining to see all the different colored types of prey and figure a way to trick them to your claws. It surprises her Clanmates she catches so much when her hunting is based on purely trickery and manipulation. Jaydance purposely scares her prey away just to run them into a trap she's made.
Along with her love for learning comes an extremely absorbent mind. Jaydance learns quickly and precisely, often doing things until she gets them right, before she does anything else. This also allows her the will-power to teach herself things as well. Jaydance has taught numerous things to herself and her Clan; such as the art of hunting traps, and fighting/hunting formations, and signals for raids so that cats know what to do and never hear the Clan coming. This has gained her the reputation as the quiet scholar among her peers and the other Clans as well. Because she is so intelligent, she is not worried about when she is gone for a hunting trip for a while. They know she'll come back laden with prey and ready to take on a border patrol.
Although Jaydance may seem quite perfect, she's not. With intelligence comes the price of a ruined innocence. She is incapable of not noticing things that naive cats do not. No, she's far too observant and has ruined her own naivety. For such a young she-cat to be so curious is something like a curse. It tends to ruin all childish dreams and replace them with harsh logic. It has made Jaydance grow up fast and this saddens her. This fact makes her lonely and yearn for childishness. So, she's often found babysitting for queens or silently listening to the apprentices chatter.
Another thing about Jay is that she isn't the type to degrade herself. She realizes her good points well enough and is very proud of them! If others complain about themselves or bully their peers out of envy of their talents, she's the first to calmly remind them they're equally as great or terrible as anyone else, just in a different way. Besides, what's the point of denying or ignoring good qualities and focusing on the bad things? You were made the way you are and nothing can change that. Might as well be happy with yourself.
Also, confrontation is something Jaydance prefers to avoid. Getting hurt for something foolish just isn't worth the waste of time. If someone tries to pick a fight, Jay coolly brushes them off and pads away as if they'd done or said nothing. Violence isn't something she uses carelessly. She thinks it's best used only when absolutely needed.
Jaydance comes off as a rather unsociable cat to most because of her silent brooding expressions and how she practically never says anything but one-digit sentences. This is something she won't change for anyone though. It's her and always will be. She isn't quite anti-social, just more of the silent type to think rather than say. A cat of action rather than words so to speak. This means she doesn't have many friends, aside from the queens she babysits for and apprentices she's babysat in the past.
History Family:mother- Mistflower father- Sootstone older brothers- Slatefang, Riversnarl, Graywhisker, and Stoneheart
Mistflower and Sootstone were practically family from the time they were born. Their mothers were close friends and that meant they ended up being so too. Since Mistflower was an only kitten and Sootstone's littermates had died shortly after birth, they were the closest thing to siblings as it got.
As time went on, and they became apprentices, Mistflower began to realize her feelings for Sootstone were more than that of a best friend or littermate. She loved everything about him, even the things that made her angry with him sometimes. So, she confessed to him a moon before their warrior ceremony and they became mates.
Earlier into their warrior years was when they had their first litter. The first born was a dark gray tom named Slatekit. Then came a bluer tinted tom-kit they named Riverkit. Both were large and strong, having a strong love for battle games.
Once Slatekit and Riverkit were apprenticed, Mistflower and Sootstone found they had yet another litter! This one was once again full of two toms. They were dubbed Graykit and Stonekit for their gray tabby pelts, like their mother. They had more laid back natures to them, more into the hunting games or mossball.
The couple waited until their kittens grew into warriors once more to have another litter. This one would hopefully contain a girl to balance out all the boys in the family. They thanked StarClan for little Jaykit. She was calm and quiet, a bit on the shy side as a kitten.
With the love and encouragement of her brothers, Jaykit became more outgoing, confident in her intelligence. This didn't help them push her toward the other kittens though. She preferred to hang out by her mother's side or watch her father and siblings work around camp and maybe even help them out. While this worried the family, they presumed she was only going through a phase.
When she continued to be withdrawn from others as an apprentice, Slatefang, Riversnarl, Graywhisker, and Stoneheart worked their hardest to bring her out of her own little bubble. This ended in minimal results. The most Jaypaw would do to socialize is stick up for her Clan mates or utter a few words when needed.
Once Jaypaw became Jaydance, her parents had long since retired to the elder's den. All her brothers were still by her side, glad she at least talked to them regularly. They were always protective of their youngest sister and scared off any admirers that came her way. Lately, she's been telling them she can handle it though because she's tired of just looking after kittens every so often. Jaydance wants to have a family of her own to be proud of. So lately, she's been trying a little bit harder to be a tad more social. This had pleased her brothers and they are now looking to settle down as well. | alias: Storm current characters: none image source: click here! | |
